Jobs within the travel industry can be up there as some of the most sort after positions available. The idea of working for people who are on vacation and experiencing something totally fresh everyday can be very appealing indeed. Just look at Tourism Queensland’s recent caretaker position. This job consists of living on Hamilton Island and writing a blog about your fun and adventures. The position received over 34000 applications and lots of international publicity. If you’re interested in finding a position within the travel industry it may be worthwhile searching through the listings on Jobs.com.au.
Jobs.com.au is one of the most helpful and comprehensive Australian job websites online. The site has a salary calculation function that can give an estimation on what you’re likely to earn in each industry or job position. But if you’re to land that dream holiday position, you’ll need to separate yourself from the pack with the best training available. The training courses section has many educational institution’s available courses, ranging from first aid to teaching to degrees and master programs. And finally once you’ve gained those all important qualifications, the resume services page will take you through how to write your resume, what to leave in and leave out, the difference between a CV and Resume, etc, etc.
An advantage Jobs.com.au has over other employment websites is the constantly growing list of employment news articles. Articles with headlines such as Jobs in Paradise, Jobs and Interviews: how to make the best impression and Sydney Jobs figures worse in the city offer that extra service many others lack. So if you’re looking for a change and dream of a better place to spend your working life, what jobs.com.au can offer may be that little boost you need to start sending out a new and improved resume to the employers you’ve always wanted to work for.

Where to start looking for that perfect cruise destination? There is practically nowhere that cannot be visited by ship. The increasing popularity of ‘Adventure Travel’ has seen many new smaller ships that can sail to those difficult to get to destinations, from the North to the South Pole and just about everywhere in between. You can see penguins on an ice flow in the Antarctic or have dinner on the River Thames, depending on your taste.
Whatever your cruise destination, you should be able to find a cruise line that will satisfy your needs. If you have “big bucks” you may wish to charter a ship and decide on any itinerary you desire. Many corporations and families do just that. Or, if you are looking for something more affordable, choose from one of the endless options available to you at cruise destinations.

Diverting from the usual Aussie travel and holiday related content, I’m going to take this down time in travel ideas to post an article on the website that pays my living. Lawyers.com.au is aiming to become Australia’s leading legal services directory and the first step for anyone looking to find legal advice and/or law firms. The website’s best asset is the extensive database of legal firms and contact numbers that can be rummaged through with a search function and legal topics section.
The effect and service the website hopes to achieve will be something like this; Canberra resident searchers the web for divorce lawyers, opens lawyers.com.au home page, moves through to the Find a Lawyer page, clicks on the Divorce Law topic, selects ACT from the location category and there you have it, a list of all the Canberra based Divorce Law firms. Easy stuff. The firm’s contact details are now on display with Google maps showing their location on a Canberra street map. And if you’ve still not found what you’re looking for, use the search bar for more place or topic specific queries using your own keywords. Over the coming months more and more features are going to be added benefiting both the legal consumer and legal firms.
Stay tuned for more details.

A flash new cruises website has burst onto the travel scene. Armed with Cruise Passenger magazine’s backlog of articles, cruises.com.au presents travel info to cruise lines, cruise ships and destinations from across the globe. Articles on all the world class cruise lines (Royal Caribbean International, P&O, Norwegian Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises and Princess Cruise Line to name a few) their history, vessels, routes, services are there. Discover how passengers onboard the Queen Mary 2, Sun Princess, Carnival Liberty, Pacific Sun and other famous ships enjoy their time at sea. And once you’ve decide which vessel to travel on, catch up on the exotic destinations the cruise ship will venture to, Mediterranean sea, Alaska, South America, Caribbean and more.
The website isn’t a static reference guide. The pages are constantly in flux through a monthly newsletter, cruise news feed and cruising related articles (the first on cruise dining). The newsletter is released on the first Tuesday of the month, keep readers up-to-date with the latest editorials in the cruise industry. The updated daily news gives visitors easy access to current events, route or destination changes and pricing deals. Definitely a source worth watching if you’re planning a cruise holiday.
The people at cruises.com.au aren’t just web publishers, but an easy connection for more information. The Requesting A Quote button at the bottom of each cruise ship and cruise line page allows visitors to access more information. By filling out a request form you’ll be sent exactly how much the cruise holiday you’ve just read up on will cost and how to make a booking.

I’ve come across a helpful surfing blog, coolbluevision.com. Although not specifically focused on the Australian surfing community, any wave loving web surfer could find enjoyment from its content. The site has surf computer games, surf news and gathers YouTube and eBay feeds of surf related videos and products. The colours and layout also have a nice feel making the site’s appearance eye-catching and engaging.
As the name suggests, the site’s focus seems to be on visuals (or vision). Today, the video feed covers a number of homemade weather reports, professional surfing videos and a musician covering a John Mayer tune.
The eBay feed is what I found most interesting. The auctions range from odd surfing memorabilia, such as surfing poker ships and surfing SpongeBob Square Pants key ring, to the usual boards and clothes. I imagine the feed would be handy for visitors leisurely looking for fun eBay auctions, away from the full range of products eBay sells through their own site.
